    and they have, when they have been youngsters, injured players or those with low wage demands. Try convincing the board to risk an extra £50-£100k for a player and I think the door closes quite quickly.

    The money remains unspent after the Windass bid so we would have to assume that is still available.

    cant sign a replacement for him though

    We have to show loyalty to his spirit by not signing anybody to fill the gap
