    I think you're as wrong as wrong can be

    The Arctic Monkeys have become popular without any hype what-so-ever. No record company hype, because they didn't have one, no music press hype beacuse they didn't have a press manager. They got popular because of the internet and word of mouth. Some kids heard them, told their mates who also liked them who told their mates etc etc etc. Then they release a single, which storms the charts and the whole media hype machine can't believe it because they haven't even heard of them.

    Like them or not, the Arctic Monkeys got popular through the power of their songs without any hype at all.

    what is so bad with that?

    i first heard them before i knew how much they were raved about. but obviously because they've got a big fan base they must be ****. of course.

    Did you see the flyers at Jack's it said that the gig is for a special album launch party and in the club night afterwards there giving loads of free stuff away should be good.

    I'm sure you can't order something that isn't available.  So perhaps if you place an order before the order is valid you do a pre-order.  It's common usage now so get off yer high horse.</p>

    ... had a 22 track demo for about six months and 90% of the tracks are belters ..... and I'm no kid being swept away by hype.
