In my opinion they are average at best.

I have watched the Arctic Monkeys and listened to the albums and although they do have some appeal I'm afraid its a bit boring once you have heard half a dozen tracks. Over hyped.

sad thing is that they are a local band made good.

and that makes them available for abuse on here , why people feel its good to slag off a local group who have upstaged every one in the last two years god knows.

ok they are not perfect but at least they have been a breath of fresh air.

Don't get me wrong they are a cracking little band,their debut album is great.Second album not as good in my opinion.

I think in many ways they have had too much too soon.Headlining LCCC is reserved for big boys,Oasis,Springsteen etc.The monkeys lack all the attributes that make rock n roll stars rock n roll stars.Alex Turner is a good little song writer,in many ways writing about things that Jarvis was 12 years ago,its not amazingly original by any stretch of the imagination.Good observation writing though such as 'Red light indicates' etc.His audience communication is uncomfortable to watch,a bit like a car crash,his mumblings at Glasto was almost too much.Also to say Jamie Cook is one the best guitarist's is way off the mark,sure they chuck a few riffs together that serve their simple songs well,but ain't exactly a young John Squire.

In my opinion the two lads who opened up for them,Bill Ryder Jones & Lee Southall from the Coral are better guitarist's and indeed the Coral are a better band.

Two albums, they have done nowt, one magazine had their debut higher in a list of albums by the likes of Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones!!! By the time i had picked myself up from the floor i had lost the page and thought it probably not best to read on.

Still big in a year or two?? and playing stadiums?? i doubt it very much
