Isn't that the trend nowadays... rather than preventing bother the police stand back in the hope of gathering evidence for convictions? From the limited incidents I've seen over the last two seasons it appears that the police are more than happy for people to cause trouble because it leads to arrests. Indeed the way I've seen police with cameras chasing around after groups of lads suggets they're desperate for something bad to happen. I often think the police like to set traps so to speak... allow fans to get drunk, shove them together, film them, march them to the ground, nick a couple, camera rolling, watch what happens. The daft ones will almost always walk into trouble. I've seen it on many away days. It is very easy to get in trouble, but even easier to avoid it if acting sensible.

Whilst we're on the subject, I've always found it strange how Brammahs is an away pub. Surely a town centre pub popular with home fans, catering also for families wanting meals, is totally unsuitable for drunk away fans? The designation of away friendly status appears to be a relatively recent event.

Are some people actually reading what I've written here ??? !!!!!!!!!

What part of what I have posted earlier is difficult to understand - 3 riot vans, police with battons and police horses racing up and down Market Hill.
Non football fans scattering between the horses.
All because the police allowed and actively pointed to Brahams as a safe place to have a drink for away fans.

And, like I said earlier, the match against Bolton could easily have been much worse than this.

In fairness it's not quite that simple to run a train from Derby to Barnsley, you would have to synchronise it with numerous other services already running. Putting more carriages on would have been entirely feasible and sensible.

I love the way brammahs let away fans in but have twice refused me entry. Once cos I was wearing an England shirt and once cos my coat had a Barnsley fc badge on it. Hypocritical w@nkers they are. We boycott the place now

Has this thread has developed into a proper discussion about what is happening in Barnsley - your previous comments along with a few more comments from other contributors are really starting to stand out as being a tad childish.
Why not stand back and just read these post and let the adults get on with posting.
