If Threads is right then the Ruskys might save us from relegation if they attack in March. It won't happen.
I think more to the point... a good analogy would be two blokes threatening eachother over a long period of time (the cold war), but then one day they both go after eachother with a gun while at the same time getting their friends involved
Its all a big game - russia has money again after years without and are flexing their muscles. Showing us they are not going to be a pushover, and cheekily trying to get some of their territory back. Problem is their money all comes from oil. They go to war with us, and they have to stop the oil supply, which leaves them skint. Lots of posturing and them trying to gradually gain some land from smaller ex-soviet states for a few years.
maybe we should be leaning towards russia.... ...the only country powerful enough to stand up to the 'new world order'.
RE: You didn't mean that! well, with america being run by a few banking families who's main aim is to have everyone chipped and under their control, russia starts to seem more appealing. i'm not saying it would be much better, but history shows that these bankers (no pun intended) have caused most major conflicts and recessions in the last hundred or so years.
I tried drinking only Vodka when in Cracow this summer It's ok the first day but it knackers yer bowels up after 4 days
Seeing as they will be supplying 60% plus of our gas soon thanks to Maggie putting the Grrrreat back in Great Britain, perhaps we should.
South Ossetia wants independence from Georgia in the same way Bosnia wanted independence from Serbia. The issue is that South Ossetia is very useful strategically in transporting oil in the region and avoids US/UK having to do so directly through Russia. This is why the US and UK are not wanting it to gain independence in the same way they wanted Bosnia to (indeed oil was a major factor there too). South Ossetian's however have voted for it, and indeed many of them have Russian passports. The US, along with Israel, have been training Georgian troops and were most certainly aware, if not directly involved in Georgia's attack on South Ossetia. Bit of a joke all round really and with the US elections coming up you can be sure there will be capital to be made from it. This unusually open comment from Putin said quite a lot, The media hasn't been 'on message' until now as it slowly starts to crank up the propaganda.
