I'm well aware that money does not equal success...

Simply that we stayed up with a hard working but not particularly strong or big squad... with all the investment you'd surely expect not to do worse?

My point really is that if we go down there is no excuse this time.

RE: Plymouth are a very quick, mobile side

Hopefully you're right as I prefer Togwell myself.

    Only thing that worries me

is the lack of experience in the side, other than Kozluk, not many Championship games amongst them, but catch 22 innit, they're only going to find their feet by getting minutes on the pitch. Mostto to come on in second half and grab the winner.......;-)

Well Toggers played all last season as did Howie... thing is those two play really well together, problem last year was that there was no-one to bring in to rest Togwell with so he looked jaded at times.

RE: It could be a return to the days of Nigel Spackman.

I think that is a good assessment of the situation. I also think the team should be given time to find it's feet. Unfortunatelyif we find out at the back end of November that is hasn't worked it could be too late.

Davey has nowhere to hide. Converesly if it works he should take the accolades.

What is more worrying is I find myself agreeing with your posts and that may mean I need help !

    RE: My guess:

Think you have got it spot on with the team for saturday. Will be a tough match, Plymouth have started the season well, and with their manager shouting from the touch-line to spur them on i predict a 0 0 draw first one in years i think. :)

completely agree, it was a hard slog last year for a combination of reasons, doubts as to davey's abilities that have not been entirely dealt with, but they will either be confirmed or undermined by May 2008. Either we will have done better than we did last year, or will have got relegated. I guess we could say, well, Davey is still average, but the better players have caused us to do better - at that stage, all that can then be said, is davey is good enough for the championship, with decent enough players.

    Why Christensen?

personally I would go with Ferenczi, unless we are definittely going route 1 football.
Get the ball down and wide , whip the balls in hard and low to the feet of the strikers.
