    I googled his name and read up on him, I didn't make any comment out of respect, very sad indeed at such a young age.

    His daughter Clare is always happy to hear from people who saw him play if it was his memorial site you found. Famously out jumped by Trevor Aylott for that great Reds win in 81. And for having his blood twisted by Ricky Villa in 82 cup final. Ironically his record transfer for a defender to Arsenal saw Macca leave us to replace him at City that same year. Death was v sad, a week after retiring. If not for injury would have got full England honours. Came back to find Tony Adams in his position at Highbury too.

    I remember him well, I always rated him and his blonde curls were very distinctive - a real 80's icon. He went far too young, very sad. RIP.
