It's looking nice now. To be honest the fake grass fits in really well and the view is great now the tree's gone.
I couldn’t have done it without you mate, your idea of spraying pesticide all over the greenery was a stroke of genius,
You'll both be running through the grass barefoot singing "Edelweiss" and "The Hills are Alive" soon ....
Just checked.. Articial grass on the front 57.7 Real grass 29.7 I wouldnt be happy to let a pet walk/lay on that.
Isn’t fake grass a carcinogen? Can’t imagine I’d want my toddler crawling on it. But as long as they do r get mud on them.
I just think it's wrong to broad brush that to everyone. I know a lot of older people get it as they can no longer take care of a garden. I had my back Garden done for a number of reasons. My youngest has terrible allergies to all kinds of pollen and with his Autism didn't understand that rolling around on the grass was bad for his skin. Behind my house are acres upon acres of fields. Not sure the dent my little bit will put in it.
I would just ask anyone getting high-and-mighty about it to ask themselves if they buy anything at all in plastic packaging? Do you buy anything made in China? Do you ever travel abroad by plane? Do you ever travel by any means other than foot or pedal bike? Do you wear any clothing at all made with synthetic fabrics? Do you ever eat avocados? For that matter do you eat any food that you didn't forage with your own bare hands? Did you have children (single most harmful thing you can do for the planet)? Do you ever comment on this forum using an electronic device? If the answer to all this is no, then sincerely I applaud you for sticking to your principles (and also wonder what kind of sorcery allows you to comment here).
Do you post on the BBS using the internet for pleasure? Yes? You've instantly done more harm to the environment than replacing 10 square metres of grass with artificial does
You're right but I just can't get my head round artificial grass, Mr Fussy would have loved it, no more having to cut the lawn with his scissors!!
I think you've highlighted perfectly just how difficult (not completely impossible, but it would likely involve completely uncoupling from so much) it is for westernised populations to live in a way that doesn't adversely impact the planet.
Christ, this escalated fast @Bossman i've also heard they are bringing in covid vax pass to be able to walk on the artificial stuff cos of the longer time it harbors the vid.
