Kevin Phillips So, how does that square with the the bid to bring Kevin Phillips? Would that make the chairman / manager as "deluded" as the fans (maybe more so)?
Of course it matters but at the end of the day if the bloke wants out we either try to get the best we can for him in a deal we can conclude or he stays put gets more pissed off and goes for nowt at the end of the season. I doubt we can afford to throw away another 500k plus
Howard didn't want to stay. Blunts seem to be the club who have come in with an offer for him.</p> Is that Davey's fault? </p>
And if he has a bad game... ... his form goes? Everyone will be saying "we shouldn't play him, he's not trying". Remember the Fowls game before the Chelsea game, when everyone was saying he didn't tackle because he didn't want to get booked. And if we let him go for nothing? Let's be honest, we can't afford to turn this money down. We aren't a rich club by Championship standards, so, if we are to get a replacement, or a striker, we need the money.
Same folk that thought it'd be a good idea to support Leeds's appeal against points deduction. Probabli. Allegedli. Please dont sue mi.
Rank bad management By the powers that be. By their own admission they've known that Howard's 'advisers' would not discuss a new contract - so we drag on to today - Culminating in a press release addressing events from 2/3 days previously, and allowing one of the biggest assets on the playing side to leave for next to fck all, and leaving the team without its top scorer and most creative player.</p> </p>
Wonder what our longest serving director Mr Barry Taylor makes of it all ? he's seen enough chairmen/managers/boardrooms come and go so surely he has to help manage these things a bit better ?</p> Why do we never hear owt from him ? </p>
You believe the clubs official statement and I don't ......... ........ as far as I know, and it came from a very, very reliable source (who I can't name because it will drop him in the ****) that Howard does want to play for Barnsley but he had a bust up with Davey because he was told towards the end of last week that he would not be playing v Norwich and was not even on the bench. Like I said in an earlier thread, I would play him for the rest of the season rather than sell him to Sheff Utd for a few hundred grand. If we get relegated it will cost us far more than a few hundred grand so in my book you don't sell your best players when you are in the ****. Also, I have been to every game this season (except Crewe) and whilst he has not been at his best, he has not been as bad as is being made out on here and certainly has been a lot better than some
RE: Correct, and that's a lot different from Howard saying it nt What about his "representatives?"</p> </p>
Don't believe everything you hear from the club ........ ...... after all, they haven't got a great reputation for handling players or looking after their fans have they?
RE: You believe the clubs official statement and I don't ......... So he spat his dummy art over being dropped for Satdi?</p> Not the kind of attitude any of our players should have. </p>
Believe what you like ......... ....... but any manager who can spend £700,000 on Mossto and Christiansen and not play them, and constantly play Odejayi when he clearly isn't up to it, and then drop the clubs best player when we are bottom of the league without a goal in the last 3 games is not somebody who fills me with confidence. I'll tell you what pal, lets have this discussion in May 2009 when we are planning our trips around the grounds of League One again, cos that's where we are heading with this clown in charge
