Mark Wood will definitely play in next match but I still think there’s a place for Robinson. He got a fair few wickets in the first match and he’s doing ok today. I’m assuming his pace variation is intended but last time I looked, he was averaging 79 which isn’t bad for a medium fast bowler. Did you see Roots bouncer which measured 75 mph ? He managed that speed with a short run up so I’m sure Robinson could easily bowl much faster if he was instructed to. That’s my opinion anyway
Ashes slipping away. Days like today happen, but rank bad captaincy in the last hour of the first test meant we threw away a test when being the better team
After making Head look like Brian Charles Lara in his pomp, Bairstow looked like vintage Jeffery Dujon whipping the bails off.
Seamers need a right rollicking here. Root turning it sideways…. they’ve got enough already with Lyon
Huge questions need asking if the team selection. No front line spinner and look at the turn Root is getting. Anderson has been poor. Lyon will have a huge impact on this pitch.
Not a great day, last couple and rooty saved us from a disaster. Hopefully the rain we have forecast down here for the AM clears up in time for a 11 ish start. Gotta go skittle em early, needs more from Jimmy and Broady and get 4 or 5 down at the slip. Soon get there.
Strange because last summer he seemed stronger, fitter and was bowling faster. Wonder if he's gone back to his old ways.
I knew we'd lost the Ashes as soon as we declared in the first innings at Edgbaston. Should be coming into this test at least level. We had the Aussies and left them off the hook big style. Now we have scoreboard pressure already. If Australia declared over night they'd win this test.
