Harsh on Bairstow, that went very quickly And just as I write this, 3 down, nice delivery from Woakes
Tell ya what, our bowling has been very good this morning. If we can get Smith out then we're laughing.
Tough chance, but his feet were planted, pretty much on his heels. But it keeps happening. Plenty chances in the first test, watched one go between him and first slip in the second test, now this. He's been out for a year with a broken leg, and barely kept wicket in the year leading up to that injury. To expect him to go straight back to keeping at this level, having done so well as a specialist batter and with Foakes batting and keeping well, was a very poor selection.
How's that a bye from the latest Bairstow howler behind the stumps? Head on 9. Let's see how many he ends up on.
No excusing that one though. Never easy down leg side but that has to be taken. Two gloves to it. Very very poor.
Given a bye but the world knows Head hit it. Ump might not have given it out but had he caught it, as any half decent keeper surely would have, it would have been reviewed.
Deaf people could hear that massive noise of ball hitting bat and yet Smith the crying cheat still wanted to waste a review.
I wouldn't call it vindication, but Bairstow will be mightily relieved to see Smith out, and will be desperately hoping Head doesn't last too much longer.
Foakes drops em too you know! This threads turned into a similar one to many football threads, the longer you aren’t in the team the better you are! undoubtably the second drop was a dolly, the proverbial open goal miss however sometimes the sun of all the parts are better than components, JB plays in the team to score runs and score quickly… it’s the way it is right now cast away pre conceived ideas of a test team… heck they aren’t even bothered about winning right now as long as they bat for 30 overs and score 300!
Of course he drops them as well. Just not as often. I just don't understand why Bairstow's role has been changed again, after being so successful last year.
