But you have to make a selection choice, and not just shoe horn all of your favourites into the team. The missed chances in the first test cost us dearly. If they wanted to accomodate Bairstow and Brook in the side, then it would need to be one of the top three making way, and somebody moving up the order. As it was, we picked a keeper that would've been badly out of practice, on pitches not condusive to creating many chances, meaning any missed chances were more costly.
They did make a selection choice. They chose arguably the worlds best batter over the last 15 months and the young gun who proved undroppable. You contradict yourself by arguing you don’t shoe horn people in and then say one of the top three to make way. You can’t have it both ways.
Head dropped on 9 and now on to 10. Marsh now dropped on 12. Do they not practice catches? Both were piss easy to catch.
They made a bad choice, many said so before the Ireland test match, and it is proving to be the case. If you want Brook and Bairstow in the top 6, then Brook, Root or Stokes would’ve had to open or bat at 3. Or you leave one of Brook or Bairstow out because they are competing for the same position. Don’t disrespect the role of the wicket keeper by giving the gloves to someone that hasn’t done that job for 2 years.
Agree but, don’t forget that Crawleys father is mega rich and Key has connections with Kent. Just saying
Awful. Maybe McGrath was onto something when he said everything about England was too casual. Too many missed chances and no balls.
Sorry to interrupt. But wtf. Scotland have snatched defeat from the Jaws of victory. In their decider against the Netherlands. To go to the One day world cup.
