Nasser says Moeen may come in at 3 ( if needed ) and aim to get a few quick runs. I reckon that seems a good idea but it’s easy to get bad criticism if it doesn’t work. C’mon you whites
Disagree with this. Brook is an excellent batter, with a good enough technique to bat at three. Ali will just be a slogger and wouldn’t last long at all. Has to be Brook or Root at three in this line up.
don’t disagree that he’s a good batter, but for me he has the potential to be far more destructive further down the order.
Can’t believe Duckett reviewed that. Hope Ali proves me wrong, but can’t see him lasting long at all at 3.
It does get annoying though, play some good shots then don’t score for three or four and have a stupid waft. All for the aggressive stuff but against the Aussies you have to adapt a bit
Moeen at 3 would have depended on when the 1st wicket fell. Crawley has hit some lovely shots for none. Pitch must be good. Root's a bit fidgety.
Possibly. He was definitely mainly a batter that bowled a bit when first picked for England, but that was in division 2, about 10 years ago.
Just got a little more nervy with that wicket. Really need a good partnership with Root and Brook here otherwise we're struggling unless Stokes has another masterclass in him with that damaged knee.
What's wrong with Dom Bess? He's a steady away off spin bowler. Does his face not fit? It's concerning that there appears to be not many bowlers coming through who can offer a decent spin option.
