There was always 300 plus on that wicket, the ball is going to move and turn for 5 days.
Win the toss you think about bowling and bat.
Bat first when you win the toss.

Don’t forget they haven’t got a spinner and we need a win and forecast is bad for Saturday onwards.

The forecast for days 4 and 5 meant we had to bowl first. Need to get 20 wickets as quickly as possible and only bat once, or leave themselves a very small target.

Sadly, I think the Aussies have enough runs to avoid defeat already

Only 83 overs today. Thought they had to bowl 90?

They do but they also have this daft rule that they can only add an extra thirty minutes onto the end of the scheduled close of play for unbowled overs. For the benefit of the crowd and transport by all accounts.

It should be enough and generally they go short due to ridiculously slow over rates - and the over rate wasn’t great yesterday - but yesterday they also lost a good 10-15 minutes because of the sun reflecting off a metal bar in the stand behind the bowlers arm, properly bizarre - and then some more time for a concussion check when a batsman got struck on the head/face - they really ought to be able to add time on for stuff like that. They walked off at 6:30 in bright sunshine. 7 overs would maybe take about half an hour, they lost about that in the day.

Taking drinks breaks every hour when it's about 15° is a joke. That's at least 3 overs in a days play gone there.

Should be made to play until they are all bowled, no matter how long it takes when there has been no rain delays.

Yonks ago, on Sundays, there was a 40 over competition called John Player league which started at 2.00 or 2.30 and often diminished in twilight but they managed to get 80 overs in !

Bowling was with a limited run up and, basically, the players got a move on.
Also, as Sunday was a break day from a County game, the players had travelled fair distances possibly.
    Nowadays they can’t squeeze in 90 overs with a 11.00 start !
Bumble was a great advocate of the players “ getting a move on “

I suspect today’s play will go something like this.

Take the last 2 wickets as quick as poss.
Bat for around 60 overs get as many as we can.
    Bowl for 15 overs tonight.
