Are we still losing? Genuine question! No clue on cricket. Its best out of 5 right? Is it 2-1 Aussies and were winning this round to make it 2-2?

Explain to me like am 5 cos I've tried googling it and I cant make head nor tails out of it...:D

If we win this match and the last one we win the ashes. However, if we lose or draw one of them then the Aussies retain the Aahes because they were the last side to win them. So basically we need 3 wins to get the Ashes.

That's why the weather forecast is very much in the Aussies favour at the moment!

Met office forecast for Old Trafford is heavy rain both for today and tomorrow. Looks like a potentially great series comeback is going to get ruined by the weather.

Current forecast for Manchester is showing lighter rain all afternoon, but I wouldn't expect to see play. Tomorrow looks as bad as today. They may not play at all today or tomorrow with the way things look.

There's no winning or losing in a game of cricket until it's finished. Might also be a draw.

I’m still bemused that we didn’t declare at or shortly after lunch yesterday. Looks like it might be irrelevant with the weather today and tomorrow, but an extra couple of wickets yesterday would’ve meant we had a chance with the odd session being playable. Now, will need a three or four hours play, which seems unlikely.

We need Uri Geller up in his chopper again to do his magic on the rain clouds over Manchester

Yes, 4 wickets to get in maybe a couple of hours would’ve been doable but 6 is another matter.
All will likely be irrelevant though as I really don’t think there’ll be any more play at all. Annoying to say the least….

The overdue declaration has been a bit of a contradiction to they way we've played, when we really needed to gamble we didn't, maybe a false sense of security seeing the sun out yesterday and maybe trying to get JB his century and 600 vs the Aussies which will have been a major psychological blow against them, a sign of total domination.

It's all just speculation. I could argue that scoreboard pressure will create more mistakes on what is essentially a lifeless pitch. If the game ends up only being 3 days there was never any prospect of winning.

2pm inspection. If you aren't religious now might be the time to learn to pray.

I reckon we just need 2 hours of play to win…
If Labushagne is an early wicket we should blitz them

Drainage at Test grounds is pretty good.
