It’s fine at Liverpool at the moment as well. Betting companies are steadily bringing prices in .. currently 7/4 England win and 4/9 for draw. Could you update us on whether it’s dry/wet over yonder ? Ta
https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/gcw25uekz#?date=2023-07-23 4/9 draw is buying money when 90 percent chance of heavy rain is showing all day.
Think there’ll be less play than yesterday. Hard to see us getting enough time to get 5 wickets. Hope I’m wrong….
It does look a logical result but the price is still available and it seems to be fine weather wise so far, over the Pennines
Just for the record, it's dry as a bone in Sheffield and all the radar apps are showing the rain just missing Manchester, steadily improving through the day.
We need 1 more run than Australia to win. Given that weather was always going to be an issue isn't it better to put Australia in, bowl them out and then chase that down? It's all well and good building a total but it's potentially wasting time scoring runs that we don't need to score.
It really was. although the most frustrating part is how long it takes to start play. We had no rain for a few hours before play started. Took around 45 minutes to announce a pitch inspection, then once inspected around another 45 minutes to start play. In this time both teams were playing football on the pitch. Like now. Inspecting the pitch at 12:20 then going straight for lunch. Have lunch now.
Then we'd just be sat waiting for the weather to to go out and get the runs to win. I get the point trying to be made here but looking atthe Scorecard I don't think Stokes got anything wrong in terms of declaration.
If the light is bad later and given that the aussies have no spinners, what happens if the umpires say no more fast bowling like they did yesterday?
England batters won’t complain about light. I’m not sure on the ruling, but could the batter agree to fast bowling?
Hmm interesting that Helen. I just feel England are going to get robbed here by things out of our control. The lads deserve to win this test. I’d be gutted if they can’t get over the line today.
