Two things have affected the result today 1 the rain 2 the fact that sadly for Jimmy Anderson this series has been one too many yesterday he should have been in his element the conditions were prefect for him sadly he looked way off his best and I think this should be his last test sad I know but he's been way below his best this series.
Might not have made much difference to the end result. But in a reduced game, they didn’t need more than the 190 lead they had a lunch. That extra hour or whatever could have had us into the tail on Friday and a better chance of bowling them out and chasing whatever target down. But ultimately, team selection has cost them. Bairstow shouldn’t have been keeping. As he said himself, he hadn’t kept wicket for three years before this summer. He was woefully underprepared. And selecting Anderson is proving a mistake.
Nowt official yet but, we've been beat by the weather, beat by the weather. Beat by the weather, we've been beat by the weather. Beat by the weather, we've been beat by the weather.
A series where we are vastly the better team thrown away through dreadful tactics and decision making in the first two test matches and bad luck in the last one. Such a shame.
Gutted. Don’t get why there isn’t an extra day set aside for rain affected games. Forecast for Manchester tomorrow is bone dry just to rub salt in the wound. Could’ve had a full house on a first come first served basis.
Decision making in the very small margins, it took us 3 games to realise we didn’t need to try whack every ball. Brooks innings in this test was a shining example of playing baz ball but at the right time. These Aussies have got lucky and won the battle, I think we might be in a position to win future wars however.
Utter rubbish. We only had a chance of winning in the first place because of the style of play, you can’t have it both ways. Player for player they are streets ahead of us, incredible achievement to even compete with them.
