    Bairstow really went in to his shell once Root got out. His scoring rate slowed down a lot.

    Class day. To score 380 against the best seam attack in the world in a day is something special. Tge aussies have a chance as the pitch isn’t doing much , Hopefully to weather holds to get a result in our favour

    Big 5-for tomorrow for Stuart please! What a cricketer, signing off on his own terms.

    One of the best to ever do it. Shame about the knock he took, or he would have gone down as one of the best all-rounders of all time. I remember years ago he could knock the ball around anywhere on a good day.

    That’s a good point … originally he was a batsman ( his dad was an opener ).
    Then he realised that he may be an all rounder and he took a bad hit on his head which, seemed to make him lose his confidence in facing short deliveries.
    The rest is well known.
    He’s our most wicket taking bowler in Ashes history.
    I’m not sure but have Warne and McGrath taken more ?
