Wood out now and we're 9 down. This is a pretty **** finish to our innings. Should have been setting them 450+
Class day. To score 380 against the best seam attack in the world in a day is something special. Tge aussies have a chance as the pitch isn’t doing much , Hopefully to weather holds to get a result in our favour
Broad announced his retirement. Tomorrow will be his last day of cricket. Sad, sad day. What a magnificent player he has been and one of the greatest ever. Cheers Stuart lad.
Big 5-for tomorrow for Stuart please! What a cricketer, signing off on his own terms. One of the best to ever do it. Shame about the knock he took, or he would have gone down as one of the best all-rounders of all time. I remember years ago he could knock the ball around anywhere on a good day.
absolutely gutted he's announced it, pretty sure we'll go out to bat with the 2 masters at the crease, be a standing ovation in and out for both as i expect jimmy do the same but in his surly manner end of an era and pure genius
Pity about the weather ruining the 4th Test, or England could have regained the Ashes. Apologies if this has been stated earlier in the thread, but for the sake of time, I skipped over the previous 82 pages.
That’s a good point … originally he was a batsman ( his dad was an opener ). Then he realised that he may be an all rounder and he took a bad hit on his head which, seemed to make him lose his confidence in facing short deliveries. The rest is well known. He’s our most wicket taking bowler in Ashes history. I’m not sure but have Warne and McGrath taken more ?
