He made a formal statement a couple of days ago to say they are light sensitive specs. It was a tongue in cheek response to a comment made by Athers
I just checked records and seen Lillee’s record !!!! He was some bowler but suppose it helps with Thompson at t’other end
The weather forecast all day looks horrendous. Any play after lunch today is a bonus. Met website showing 90 percent chance of heavy rain most of the day.
Could easily have been 5-0. Weather is showing lighter rain early afternoon now rather than just heavy throughout. Tomorrow looks fine for a result. Couple of wickets this morning would help. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weathe...urrey C.C.C. (Greater London)&date=2023-07-30
There’s light rain in Hampshire now, looks to be moving east towards London, tomorrow looks better though broad finishes batting hooking a six and let’s hope he can get on a spell now with the ball until the rain comes
It does feel like it's all set for one of those very special spells only he can produce. I owe so much of my love of test cricket to that man and the magic he can produce. I can make a strong argument he's the greatest pace bowler of all time. At least a couple of those legendary spells were in situations where the ball and pitch were offering very little to the bowlers. Thank you Stuart.
I don't know why Broad had to announce his retirement when he did. He should have done it before the final test match or waited until after. Hes given the Aussies motivation to ruin the party. I think they will win this quite comfortably to be honest.
If the Aussies win this it'll be up there with the greatest chases of all time. All credit to them if they do. It'll be a deserving way to win your first away ashes in over 20 years. Hell of a long way to go though.
