    I think we have to accept that this is a very aggressive and attacking England regime and picking Bairstow as keeper to bat at seven is the aggressive and attacking option. He’s selected for his superior batting ability and we know he isn’t the keeper Ben Foakes is. I’m not sure there are many in world cricket as good behind the stumps.

    I could only drop one of the openers - and I’d think it harsh to make Bairstow or Pope open.

    Bairstow had dropped a bollock or two yeah - but there’s another innings, if Mo can sort his finger out he’ll get chance to redeem himself on the fourth innings. The reason he came in for Foakes is still valid; I’d prefer the better keeper to take the chances but Bairstow is no amateur and he’ll improve through the series you’d imagine.

    The England squad is for 2 tests so, barring injury I don’t see Foakes getting in for next game.
    I still think we’ll win this test match though.

    Tough facing 90mph guys from both ended in that darkness. Once the rain arrives that will be the end of the days play.

    It’s amazing how much things changed there before the first rain we looked comfortable. After coming back out the conditions totally different and batting much more difficult Weather certainly favouring the Aussies at the moment
