Yes, they should have played a test match in Wales ... ..... starting with England v Bangladesh, then work their way up to the quality tests As for the anthem, see my other comments in this thread, can't be arsed to say it all again
RE: Cause they played the game in Wales Remember Cardiff V QPR in the play off final a few years ago, they didnt play the national anthem because they didnt want to upset the taffs. All other play off finals do it. They then did the same with us V Swansea, same reason. Pathetic, im English and proud, if they dont like it then tough, dont play in our football or cricket leagues.
I also think every welsh person i have met has been a shower of /poo . Never met such arrogant, anti English people in my life.
Get ready for the PC brigade now.....

Agree totally mate ........... ....... they are worse than the Jocks for supporting the opposition when England are playing, and that takes some doing
Ignoring the bit about welsh people I don't understand why playing the british national anthem would upset them considering theyre british
RE: reading this thread Really dont see the relevance. How do you know whatanyone who has contributed to this threadvoted? or if indeed any of us did actually vote at all Quite a silly statement, making a general comment like that....

I disagree I was trying to make a distinction between eligibility and the actual representatives in a given team. Maybe not very well, but not entirely irrelevant either.
It should go to the best grounds not the richest councils. Trent Bridge is probably 3rd best ground in country (behind Lords and Oval) and it hasn't got a game, we always do well at Old Trafford but no test there.
Annoyed me that Headingley missed out last time after all the Ashes history we have there. Glad to have the chance to go this time around.
We are doing alright now. Their prime minister sent them a letter of support........ http://cricket.com.au/default.aspx?s=news-display&id=16638
RE: Cause they played the game in Wales I'm Welsh and you're post, Shaftn Red, is f****ing objectionable!
My post accidentally caused a bit of a kerfuffle dint it I had no idea it was England and Wales... they even have ECB on their emblem. Wales must be a bit annoyed that they always get ignored. Or maybe they're egg chasers that don't give a monkeys about cricket. The fact is I don't know much about cricket. I only started watching it when I moved over here and because of this, I find myself knowing the Aussie players a lot better than the English (/Welsh!) ones. Should I get behind England or barrack for the Aussies?
RE: Cause they played the game in Wales I am not Welsh, I am from Wath and its still offensive rubbish!
RE: Well, if you accept that it could have been either anthem .. that analogy is percfectly valid. Since the team is representing the England and Wales Cricket Board of course Wales should be treated no differently than anywhere else in England. The first test should always be at Lords anyway in my opinion but apart from that the national anthem thing is hardly a big deal its just the Welsh are proud people so stop moaning. The are proud but since Plaid Cymru continue to be in a small minority they obviously do not see themsleves as independent as the Scots for example, so what's the harm in a Welsh song for Wales. Certainly nothing like Australia playing in New Zealand which is a separate sovereign nation.
