Cole has been class for 10 years for England. Never has a bad game, of course he deserves caps 99 and 100. It was a tweet ffs, he's hardly killed a man.
He has been a first class player, agreed. But he's a first class idiot as a human being. He should show some respect to his employer. If I sent something so abusive to my "head office", I would soon be looking for another job.
It will sink in eventually. If I had a pound for every time I have heard/read somebody say "the FA think they are above the law", "how can they find him guilty when a Court didn't?", I could have afforded a Leeds ticket!
Don't see why the FA are his employer to be honest, he plays for England. The FA don't own England, he's representing the country not the organisation. Chelsea are his employers, he is chosen to play for England for being the best left back we have, and probably is the best left back in the world still.
I believe they give all that to charity anyway. I know technically they employ him in some capacity, but I don't see it as being a job playing for your country. He's never let his country down on the field, and his actions off the field have never directly effected the England team (unlike John Terry's for example).
When he plays for England the FA are his employer. He represents the English FA. The manager is employed by the FA. Not sure how you can think otherwise. The FA are responsible for the FA Cup, the disciplinary/ruling etc of English football, and the England team. Agree about Cole in so far as he been the best LB in the world for years, but he can't abuse his employer like that. It would be Baines for me.
Of course they employ him, so it is a job, by definition. Do you honestly think they would play for their country if they didn't get paid? As for giving it all to charity, I find that very, very hard to believe. Stop paying them and see how committed they are to playing for their country then. The bottom line is that Cole, while being a damn good player (admittedly) is a disrespectful idiot, IMO.
Stop being a bunch of pansies. I've worked for some right tw@ts in my time too. Still had to show up and put a shift in. And let's be honest, the FA are hardly whiter than white. Then thought they were above than the law by bringing John Terry to book. It's all a massive waste of time and dull as ****. Whether you like them or not, Ashley Cole stuck up for his mate. What's more important than that when you are putting a team together?
Fekking ell I agree wit Mr C for once....... Or is Mr C really Merlin or whitey or jacket spud or .... Oh I don't know I am getting confused now.... I must be Mr C then?????? Someone help please Hth
If it's not true about the charity I apologise, it was probably HT once said when he was losing an arguement about why Daniel Sturridge is better than Gazza or summat. I did say they technically employed him, but I don't think for one second when I'm watching an England game that they're representing the FA cos they're not. The FA are stewards of the England set-up for the country. I'd actually be suprised if they wouldn't play if they didn't get paid, I know someone like Gerrard or Beckham would for sure. It's still every lads dream to play for England, and winning a World Cup still has to be the pinnacle of anyones career.
A cynic would say they play because being a current England International adds £££ value to their personal image rights. JT will find that by being found guilty by the independent FA inquiry of using the racist insult "You ****ing black c.nt … f.cking kn.bhead" that sponsors will run a mile, thus knocking £££'s off his personal image rights In fact JT personal image rights, could be a bit of an oxymoron ..... http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/oct/06/editorial-john-terry-ashley-cole-chelsea-england So how the f.ck does Ashley Cole get away with .... he FA are accusing Cole – Terry's principal supporting witness – of lying. In his first statement to the FA Cole made no mention of having heard Ferdinand use the word "black". In a revised statement he asked for the word be inserted into his statement to strengthen Terry's defence. The commission concluded: "Mr Cole did not hear, and could not have believed, understood or misunderstood Mr Ferdinand to have used the word 'black'."
