What are you basing it on though? One half decent loan spell for us 7 years ago? The fact is, Cole scored more last season than Fletcher has since 2019. There's no doubt Fletcher has the potential to be better than Cole, but honestly, apart from one season at Middlesbrough, he's not really shown anything to suggest it's a gamble worth taking, and an expensive gamble it would be at that.
I actually thought they'd be alright after the points tally they amassed last season and relatively the same squad. But when you consider the number of players they've got who's career is in decline, their inability it seems to attract players and questions marks around their off field antics, they could very easily go down with a whimper. Particular if they go on a run like they did towards the end of last season when they lost to Forest Green. They'll struggle to turn it around as quickly in that league. That's without addressing the bizarre decision to let Moore go.
Season long loan. Guaranteed success then, seeing as he used to play for us Seriously though, this is a player who had a relatively successful loan spell at Oakwell but has since sculled around the bottom of the pond, picking up his money, not scoring many and looking distinctly average when playing against us. People keep giving him another chance. Maybe this is his last one before sliding down the leagues and beyond.
What a weird reply. Going all big? Because people prefer other players? His goal record is a shambles, if he didn't play for us years ago you and loads others would absolutely slaughter Khaled and co for bringing in someone with his record. A million players have had a good season and then been rubbish afterwards.
A player with a 5hite goalscoring record, however every dog has its day as the saying goes and i would'nt be surprised if he found his form with Wednesday, i wish him well and hope the fella finds some form long over due,
We were in a downward spiral at the time but he's as average to poor as they come, he was awful when he played for us. Honestly when I look at your style of play last season he wouldn't have done anything to contribute to that. I'd be worried if I was a Sheff Wed fan. Don't know if you were in for him but you've dodged a bullet if you were imo.
It's absolutely bizarre how mediocre a career he's had. We had him and Ivan Toney on loan in 2016. Fletcher looked like the complete centre forward, whereas Toney was generally anonymous. If you'd told me at the time that one of them would go on to become one of the best strikers in the country, I'd have bet my house on it being Fletcher.
