I'm not scared of immigration when it's useful but if people are coming just to scrounge off the system then it's wrong and they shouldn't be let in.

To put it simply, my view is we should adopt Australia's immigration system

    Re: The 'problem' at ASOS

I spoke to a estate agent a while ago who said landlords now prefer the foreign contingent cos they keep the places tidy and pay there rent on time!!

Your kidding me right... have ur been up Sheffield Rd recently the 1st half of it upto the old bus depot is an absolute no go area after a certain time, The place is now a dump, do immigrants only buy 1 curtain cos u only ever see one pulled over the full window....

That's your view on it, mine was just a summarisation on what I've seen with my own 2 eyes over the past 18 month.

My cousin worked there too. Only for a couple of months & then she managed to find a better paid job as a cleaner.

Companies like this are the result of globalisation, capitalism at all costs policies & consumers wanting to pay **** all for stuff like clothes.
All things UKIP, the Tories, Labour & the Lib Dems have very few plans to stop as far as I can see.

If you want to do something about stuff like that vote for the Green Party.

His words not mine.......I have been up Sheffield road recently and I've also been down Oxford street and junction street which is just as bad with English. As I stated in a earlier thread I gave a view and opinion on what is seen with my own 2 eyes in the past 18 month!!

    Re: The 'problem' at ASOS

I've obviously wondered off track as to what the original post was discussing, my view on this thread was that a few posters were getting that we have too many foreigners taking English people's jobs and I was giving a response that over the past 18 month I've viewed things very different....a wish I would kept my ******* gob shut now!!!!

Not read this thread, however, to say that UKIP is the party we should vote for because of ASOS being a non union employer is daft. They're against workers rights and are only after business. If you think that they'll stand up for workers you're wrong - local lads will still be working minimum, non union jobs. Maybe even more so.

Took the words out of my mouth. The idea that anybody's considering voting for UKIP because they'll give workers a better deal and somehow make companies pay larger wages is so astoundingly incomprehensible that I can't even think of a way of beginning to argue against it.

It's just wrong. Deeply, misguidedly, comprehensively and terrifyingly wrong.

The one grain of hope is that, once they're forced to reveal their manifesto, this kind of stuff won't fly any more. In many ways the current tory party are consderably more extreme than Thatcher, and a good proportion of the real powerbrokers in UKIP consider these same tories to be namby-pamby liberal lefties.

    One last thing...

Despite my view that these foreigners who I work with are just normal folk, trying to earn a living, I do believe something needs doing regarding immigration. But it's not voting for UKIP.

I'm sure I heard somewhere the other day that UKIP would privatise the NHS...is this true?...Which makes them More Tory than the Tories...as Milliband says.

    Re: The 'problem' at ASOS

they would continue as the coalition are doing now. not by putting it on the stock market as the post office etc but by bringing in private companies to compete with nhs staff for services and as the private companys are allowed to recruit minimum wage staff will be able to undercut our nurses, cleaners.junior doctors etc untill such times as they have no competition then put up their prices but only to feed their investors and top management rises

Curious how the media barely give the Green Party a mention, yet UKIP are always in the headlines. I wonder how many seats the Green Party would win if the media gave them equal air time?
