Or maybe we've just called it out for the garbage that it is, which is the right thing to do. All forms of racism/discrimination should be challenged.
I saw some asylum seekers here in Tbilisi at a pub at the weekend. They were quite drunk and quite frightening - they were wearing Rangers footy tops, shouting loudly about Stevie G’s blue army and both had ginger hair!
I don’t really want anyone extra coming into Barnsley, the towns full enough & the roads are constantly busy but as a country we should accept asylum seekers. We’ve done the damage or at least backed America up. It’s our problem.
What a sick *******. I’ve just googled that & wish I hadn’t. Is he definitely a reds fan? Seen a Liam Hodgson on twitter that posts about Barnsley but he doesn’t look like the rapist.
From what I was told yes but no if you're thinking of the Liam on Twitter who I have seen tweets from in the past it's not the same guy
A bit of a stretch to get to that. Got no problem with them just don’t think Barnsley can cope with an increase in population whether that’s from abroad or from locals having more children. The towns gridlocked every day. There’s barely any dual carriageways in the town. Dodworth Road, Stairfoot roundabout, Monk Bretton into town, from town out to Darton & Mapplewell. I go to other towns & cities working & barely ever get stuck in traffic like I do in Barnsley.
Oddly the delivery drivers we have at work all love delivering to Barnsley because of the lack of traffic compared to other towns and cities.
You’re just a town full of immigrants. I should know. On my mother’s side I can trace my family back to before the Civil War. I’m descended from of one of the original twenty families that lived in the Worsbrough Valley. We were happy then, farming and that and then you lot came. Looking for work in them new pits that ruined everything. Some came from as far as Leeds, Stoke, Newcastle and a country called ‘Ireland.’ The preachers warned you didn’t like to work , you’d rather have, “a dirty bone and a pot of beer half a dozen times a day.” Sadly, my grandmother married one of you lot whose family had come from Leeds. My old man was a refugee. Got orphaned at 14, came to this country with nowt and couldn’t even speak the language. Was one of hundreds of refugees who came to Barnsley after WW2. The Chronny was full of twitter-like outrage. “What meals, money, clothes are they to get for free? The serious economic situation in Britain today does not permit so many to get so much for free.” "Will they become a permanent affliction on the town?" He got dog’s abuse in the streets and refused work. Ended up doing 25 years at Elsecar as a ripper. So yes, we’re just a town full of immigrants. Including us.
I’ve travelled all over the North for work, and if you’d asked me the worst places for traffic, Barnsley wouldn’t have featured in my top 20. The road signs in Barnsley; they’re appalling, but that’s not linked to overpopulation
Mine settled here in the 1800s from Italy and Ireland. You'd be hard pressed to find a local family that doesn't involve an immigrant somewhere along the line.
A few years ago, he might have received replies of agreement. But those people have either grown up or moved on. I think he’s an older supporter with a dated outlook, stirred up by the right wing press.
