By supporting one you're not supporting the other, it's impossible to support two teams that kick off most their games at the same time as each other, I could understand it if they where a Sunday side like Donny Belles, in fact I've said on this very site all none league football should be on Sundays, so fans of football league clubs can support both, but the way it's set up now it's impossible to support both
Do you not watch any England games when Barnsley aren't playing ? and would you not watch them if they got to a world/European final if you could get tickets ?
They never clash though do they, so you can support both if you wish, there for you don't have to choose, with Rec your not a Rec supporter if you're at Oakwell wile Rec a playing, same as you're not a Barnsley supporter if you're watching Rec wile Barnsley are playing, calling yourself a Rec supporter when you go watch Barnsley when Rec are playing is doing genuine Rec supporters a in justice you can not support two teams when they play at the same time, you can wish them well, want them to win, but you can't call yourself a supporter when you're not. Supporter support their team and you're not doing that when you're watching another club
Barnsley Cricket Club and Yorkshire County Cricket club and Barnsley Football Club. You really are a one club blowk But no I don't know what you're saying hence the questions. But thanks for the prompt replies. I think I've nearly sussed it.
I personally feel that you can't activly "support" more than one team, but i think most fans will take an interest in at least one other teams results from time to time. I personally have been a reds supporter for as long as i have loved football, but in recent seasons I have been to watch Millwall, Mk Dons and even( im ashamed to say) Wednesday due to family playing, but never spent a penny to those clubs...
Aye, a good ten years or so before my time I would imagine. My aunty lived on Clifton Cres for years.
Good point. It's cost me nowt to watch Jacob, so am not exactly supporting whichever club he's playing for, just supporting him/the family. But it seems this means I'm not a proper Tarn supporter. Ah well, never thought I was anyway. You've to lay into the youths and slag off everything the club does/doesn't do, haven't you?
What was her surname? My back garden backed onto the playing field (Ed Sheerian school) - fantastic for us soccer-mad kids!!
I just don't get your point of view Nightmare. Im a Barnsley fan was a season ticket holder for many years and attended loads of away games too. Im now the Manager of Houghton Main U21's and dont get to that many reds matches because of this. Does that make me any less of a supporter?? i'd say not, there is plenty of good things happening in Barnsley with the Northern Counties and County Senior Clubs we have. Perhaps you should visit each of them and watch a game you may learn something. There are definately one or 2 in the backroom management at the club who could learn things about how to run a club properly on a budget by visiting them!!!!!
