Na just Barnsley folk i think.. thee old SIT DARNERS rule. Sit there, arms folded with a . 'av payed mi money nar entertain mi' attitude. Been woeful for years. Duff moaned about it last season. We even cut down Bolton's away following in the play off game so the home support wouldn't be put to shame..
Nowt to do with that mate.. its simply down to folk not opening there mouths... remember the play off Swansea game with only 4 n'half k fans in oakwell? Even their goalie said it sounded like 20k
Been saying that for years, when you go to the NY stadium there's a lot less people in there and the atmosphere isn't that cracking but it sounds like there's 25k there. New stadiums are being made with acoustics in mind.
The only way we get an atmosphere in Oakwell is twofold: 1. Entertaining football on the pitch 2. West Stand being renovated to be open on both sides & cheaper safe standing tickets in the West Lower. No wonder the East Stand is dead most of the time, as you are looking at a void in the other stand largely.
To be fair though, it picked up after the scarf day last year, it's was great towards the end of the season
Problem is we don't have specific area in ground where all singers can sit together. Derby fir example sit in there south stand Bolton sit together down side near away fanseven Blackpool fans sit in specific area bhind one goals
As for the possibility of a points deduction, nothing would surprise me with the Efl bosses these days. And in fairness, I don't think the threat of that hanging over us, has got anything to do with the atmosphere.
Derby actually have a section on their website letting you know where to sit if you want to chant all game or sit and watch the match that way. It’s great and looks very well organised. We need some planning like that
See that's not true either... Why are people looking for excuses...The elephant in the room.. is simple. The majority that go to Oakwell sit on their hands and keep their mouths shut.. 10-11k home fans should be lifting the roof off.. Tell you what... Take last nights game no one wanted the ball. No one is going to want to play here, coach or invest here if this continues.. We expect the players to turn up and perform but for some reason think we don't have to, why should the players be @rsed if the fan's aren't.. its supposed to be our club, they are just passing through right.. So come on.. there's plenty with big gobs in Barnsley.. open yours mouths and get behind your team..
Its not just Oakwell, its the same at most grounds. You see Klopp moaning about it at Anfield. I've been to watch Man City a few times this season and although the footballs great the atmosphere is flat. Their fans moan about it on their forums.
