Out of time clapping to timerider is my single favourite part of being a bfc fan. The smallest hill I would die on. Just completely ingrained into the match day experience.

You're right though, the acoustics at oakwell are terrible and it's probably why our atmosphere seems crap.

I’ve said this on here recently.
I sit in the West Stand so can judge what’s happening in the Ponty.
And the Ponty this season has been generally quiet.
Which is strange because we are winning most games.
And all I can put this down to is that there’s very little action in the opponents penalty area.
We are constantly scoring worldys - goals from 25+ yards away.
Shots are raining in - but they are from a long way out.
Most of our play is narrow and in the middle of the field.
We are probably used to wingers that can cross the ball - which results in exciting football in the penalty area.

The atmosphere is crap at home due to the 50 to 65 year olds too busy booing and chuntering about our young players after the first misplaced pass.

Thing is.... when its out of time, as with singing, you're not as loud and it doesn't have as much effect. You could probably have 30% less people singing or clapping, as long as in time, and it have the same effect. Imagine if the fans could actually be coordinated and how loud it would be. Only time I can ever think we were genuinely loud was after the Bradford game and YNWA... and that's because they had a bloody backing track to keep everyone in time!

The grounds too open, acoutics are shocking. One of the many reasons to get rid of the West Stand and fill the corners in.

If i may, i would just like to say Guys you are fookin awsome Away, and its amazing how many away fans speak highly about our support. But at Home apart from the 700 or so Ponty lads the atmosphere at Oakwell is dire, its as if nobody knows the words for the songs and the ones who do are all fookin tone deaf. ME included.

There's a lad in front of me who could moan for England, and he only looks about 18. Christ knows what he'll be like after 40 years.
