RE: for the first last time they do not count non-attendees..... Can you clarify that? Cos it doesn't add up (pun intended). You are actually saying that official attendaces will always be larger than actual attendance.
RE: for the first last time they do not count non-attendees..... Best example of this is at Man Utd - all season ticket holders automatically have to buy a Coca Cola cup ticket (but obviously loads werent interested in watching their reserves play a Championship team) - so their official attendance for the Coventry game was about 75000 but the ground was actually half empty.
RE: for the first last time they do not count non-attendees..... I'll make it easy for you... Have you ever watched a football match its been given as sold out... but you can see loads of empty seats !!!!! That'll be the season ticket holders that haven't turned up !!!! Or you've been to a concert thats "SOLD OUT".. But again you can see empty seats, that'll be the people who bought tickets but haven't turned up... You can't sell a ticket/seat twice...
RE: for the first last time they do not count non-attendees..... People were let in after kick off by the corner of the West Stand and the Pontefract Road end. I was already seated at this stage but mid 1st half I coudn't move for ppl standing in ailes and at the back I asked they said they did not have seats? Thats what I beleive anyway...I couldn't swear and affidavit to say it was true.
RE: for the first last time they do not count non-attendees..... I might be thick here but if the crowd is counted by a ticker on each turnstile how can non-attendees be counted?
RE: for the first last time they do not count non-attendees..... Just a guess like, but by totalling up number of season ticket holders and number of tickets sold for the game
RE: for the first last time they do not count non-attendees..... So what is the point of the ticker on the turnstile?
Im struggling with this one To be honest I usually think the Attendence looks about right however if the turnstile counts me as I go in - or as I have noticed the last couple of times I have gone in the operator writes a number on my voucher and the next number on my dads so I assume she is counting the people going through Therefore the club presumably know how many people have gone into the ground. Also the reason given for not allowing nippers to be lifted over the turnstile is for health and safety so we know how many are inside. Does this mean there are 2 attendence figures? and official attendence which is all ST holders and tickets sold whether or not they attend + cash sales at the turnstile and a H&S attendence which is the actual number in the gound but never published?
personally i dont bother attending games theses days as my work committments come first but i will admit that on several occassions i have seen a steard let his mate sin for a tenner.
