Considering we took 5k to Wigan for a game that would get us into the play offs in 2016, I'm pretty sure we'd have shifted 5k for Bolton in an actual play off game. I don't have anything against the allocation reductions though, obviously disappointed for anyone who wanted to go but can't but let's pack Oakwell for the second leg.
Won't Bolton seats already be allocated? So if they're at the back like Peterborough it won't be split?
Not really a secret or something we could deny when Bolton came out earlier this week and said the reduced allocations were down to us. I do agree with what we've done though, last thing we want is 5k Bolton fans in the north stand.
On a Saturday at 3pm? I’m certain we would. Maybe not if it was a week night but definitely on a Saturday at 3pm. We’ve took over 4k to Milton Keynes, over 5k to the Etihad, the big away following at Wigan etc
I guess one way of looking at it that hasn't really been mentioned is it allows more fans the opportunity to watch us at Oakwell, providing we do split the North. If we don't it seems a bit pointless. Not sure I believe the Bolton stance that it was our decision on the allocations either, particularly when Whitey responded early doors to say 'it's all in hand.' I took that to mean Bolton gave us 2k so we are going to match what they're giving us. Who knows.
Didn't Bolton announce the away fans would have 2000 tickets regardless of if it was us or Wednesday too?
Not sure mate, but wouldn't surprise me. How many did they allocate us in the league? Bet it was significantly less than what we gave them, but they ignore that small detail
I wasn't aware of 4 teams and the EFL splitting the proceeds from the 4 games. Maybe that as influenced the decisions of the 4 teams when they ALL agreed to limit the away allocation. Maybe this is what whitey was on about.
