RE: A new one would be great

No that would be rubbish. It works well for England because they aren't a club side that play week in week out. Three problems with a new shirt every two seasons........

    1) The wear and tear. Come the second season people would be wearing knackered looking shirts.

    2) A year is long enough to wear an item of clothing. It's always nice to wear something newer.

    3) Our club would lose out on thousands of pounds of revenue on sales.

Works really well at other clubs dreamboy

What difference does it make if barnsley play once a week or not? I'm not sure of the relevence of that. Also would they really lose out on thousands of pounds of revenue? I see hardly anyone in a barnsley shirt anymore, there are a few people at oakwell but even then you're in the minority if you wear one. I don't buy one because they're overpriced for something that lasts just 9 months when I can buy an england shirt, normally for cheaper which lasts me two years. The amount of england shirts around says to me that a lot of people use the same theory.

If they were made of decent quality they'd last more than 9 months. I've got england shirts upto 4 and 5 years old that look new. Barnsley shirts i've had in the past looked knackered after a few weeks.

    * Us playing once a week means it gets worn more because there's more games to wear it at.

    * The reason for not seeing so many Barnsley shirts might have been the time of year. It's been too cold to wear a short sleeved shirt. You might start to see more now it's warming up.

    * We both know Barnsley shirts can get knackered quickly and so a new kit every two years would make it even worse.

You ignored the fact that most other clubs change their kits every two years

While we have THREE shirts per season and in fact had around 7 or 8 shirts listed as being barnsley replica shirts this season on the official site.

And I don't think that a lack of barnsley shirts recently (ie the last few years) has anything to do with the weather because other teams shirts are just as cold as ours yet I see england shirts worn all over barnsley town centre, you're lucky to see one tarn shirt. I think the reason for a drop in barnsley shirts being worn is simple, its a combination of poor quality/design, poor marketting (only being able to buy it in one shop) and the fact that at 40 quid for 9 months it is overpriced when u can but an england shirt for the same or less which lasts 2 years and doesnt look like youre wearing a sandwich board.

And again I think that if a barnsley shirt is falling to pieces after being worn 23 times (if you wore it every second game with the home shirt every other) whilest sitting/standing still then there is something very wrong when theyre designed for being used for physical activity.

    Our first Lotto shirts

All of mine are still in tip-top condition after 12 months.

    Certainly better than previous shirts.

They do look it to be honest

I think the club dropped a bollock by releasing the white kit as a third choice kit for one month this season instead of as a two year away kit next season. sales would have been through the roof

Have the first team even used it?

The white kit is very smart, even my girlfriend wants one.

I think with Lotto we've finally got it right.

    Not sure

I thought it was a great kit but there was no way i was buying a third choice kit that was never getting used. And thats the main problem with barnsley, treating fans as cash cows instead of as people

Most clubs have now moved away from changing their shirts every year.</p>

As ever we've missed the trend and are stuck in the past.
