Re: As a supporter, all that matters is the football Spot on, too many take this place far too serious. Who the **** are we anyway.
But you could only get on t'net if you went to t'Internet Cafe insode t'Wine Shades or t'Penny Farthing!
Re: As a supporter, all that matters is the football I know - just joking. I'm looking forward to putting names to faces.
A competitive ball hasn't been kicked yet, so you have absolutely no idea how Barnsley are going to be this season. You just think you do. You just moan, moan, moan all the time. Its pathetic, if after ten games were rooted to the bottom of the table then fair enough. But whats the point in moaning about something you presume will happen.
My first game was 1967 ,I think that was our worst ever season. it goes without saying that the internet has changed the way people communicate and interact, but to say there were no moaners in the 60's and 70's is way off the mark. Spud Murphy would often stick two fingers up to supporters who were having a go, ask Jim Illey if there were moaners (there was a ground full of them). Season after season of fans having a go at the club for having no ambition, even being accused of throwing a game in order to avoid promotion. People say theres no perspective from fans today, I don't think there ever has been been.
Yes, I am, but they're entitled to their opinion. I just wish they would state their opinion once though instead of repeating the same opinion every day.
Re: They are entitled to their views I value your friendship and I think it is important that people are allowed to have alternative viewpoints, because somewhere in between the two extremes is the point where we all are at, we all want BFC to prosper and it is stupid to expect every single poster on here to just follow like sheep! I can see why some people dont like to hear anything bad said, but I think the BBS is the perfect place to get these feelings out, surely its better to moan here than at Oakwell. The happy clappers are just as annoying too.
We bloody did!!!! Just that these days you can see it more than before, in the days before the internet all the moaning was done in the pubs and clubs, there was some right barneys in the East Dene after matches. Cant you remember Iley Out ? Same thing .
Re: As a supporter, all that matters is the football Just tell em that you are me !! I could give a flick if they dont like me.
Some people are permanently positive some are permanently negative whilst others are permanently realists. On paper we still have a weaker squad than the majority of teams in this division and some recent unforeseeable injuries have weakened us further still. A lot of fans can see what our team's weak areas are but it can get frustrating when nothing seems to be done to improve it. Yes we have little money to spend but i don't believe we have NO MONEY. Just spend it wisely Keith (if you do have owt).
"The happy clappers are just as annoying too."???? How very dare you???? I'm sat at the computer now, waving my fist angrily at the screen and saying "Grrrrr"!! That's you told!!! ILEY OUT, ILEY OUT! Sorry, I slipped back in time there.
Re: "The happy clappers are just as annoying too."???? I don't see myself as either a happy clapper, or a constant whinger. I think I'm a positive realist. I see our position, evaluate things, and try to be positive about it. However, my mood in general regards the club, is usually influenced by the club. And the consistent mistakes on and off the field, the "we're ****/skint/overachieving" mentality they drum into us.... well it's had an effect on me over the last year, and whilst at heart I'm a positive, happy kind of bloke, I'm feeling gloomier than ever about my club. Won't stop me supporting them as I see fit, though. And I will never 'seriously' post negative stuff on here without it being warranted. Up the Reds etc etc and so on...
I think another 4th from bottom will be another 2 fingers up at the money grabbing, spend today worry about tomorrow clubs who are distorting the league, to me that is as big an achievement now as any promotion in the past. Some folk still think its 1997, and we should be in the top 6 or we're rubbish. Good look to them, I'll carry on supporting regardless, and if I see a good manager like Hill I'll back him all the way, and if I see a sh*t one like simple Simon I'll continue to point out his crapness.
Re: I agree It was a year ago yesterday that Laura had her kidney transplant. And she STILL won't do my uni work for me!!
