Plus, (after a serious injury) a return to full fitness could never be guaranteed. I can understand that in those circumstances he took the opportunity to set himself up for life.

Had he not got the injury, it would be nice to think he would have stayed at BFC.

Aye, but he knows that he's probably never going to be one of the really top paid footballers and that when he gets to 33/34 he's going to unemployed with what are almost certainly a crap set of qualifications to fall back on. Add in the uncertainty over his future caused by the injury and I don't blame him for grabbing the cash at all.

Make hay while the sun shines lad.

He was 'comfortable' with us. I'm sure he thought he'd be in with a chance of first team Prem football at Norwich. Clearly it never worked out but you can't blame him for trying.
I for one was hoping he'd do well and will keep my fingers crossed for him at Boro (apart from when they play us).

Nail on the head. However, common sense is lost when it comes to modern day football...

They should print that out and stick it on the wall of the John Stones gym.

I know what the figures were. I don't believe anyone on here would accept what Barnsley offered for a 1 year contract compared to what Norwich were offering for a 3 year contract even without the fact he was coming back from a serious injury. The difference was truly life changing.
Hope it goes well for him at Boro!

I can't be reading the stats right, did he really never even get on the pitch with Norwich?
    I'm telling Greg.....

Man of the match on debut against Donny in the cup. Played well against Spurs the next round before his knee flared up. Came on as a sub int FA Cup against Posh.
He destroyed Blackburn when at Bolton, but was strangely dropped to the bench against Leeds so he ended the loan. Freedman regrets that.
Was just finding his form and fitness with a few starts at Palace and helping them to victory before again getting dropped bizarrely. He then chose to end that loan, too. And Palace then went sumat like 8 games without a goal or win..
But he was ****, apparently. So say those who saw none of these games.
    I did. So ner. :D
    Looking forward to October 19th...

So he ended two loan periods because he wasn't picked? I bet he used to take his ball home if he didn't get his own way as a kid, sounds like he needs to MTFU.
