I’d have him back even for a day just to tell this set of sulking schoolboys what they have become. I’d love him back permanently. Our discipline has been shot ton pieces.
Not really. He left us in a heartbeat and took key staff with him. I'd have no doubt he'd do the same at the drop of a hat, if he were to come back and turn things round.
not one shot on target all night, zero creativity in midfield like us,Mowatt is slow but Livermore is almost a statue
I hated his style of play overall though for a while it was quite good and definitely effective. If he'd stayed there's no way we would have been as effective but equally there's no way we'd be struggling like we are. If he came back now we'd have more fight but even that wouldn't keep us up.
One thing is certain. There's no way Mads would have pissed about like that for Forest's first goal if Val was running the show.
I loved his style of play. Yes there were one or two horrible games, but mainly we were on the front foot, chasing teams down, and winning. I would have loved to be in Oakwell seeing Friezer, Woodrow and Styles chase players down and turnover possession. I can’t remember a game this season where i felt entertained. Give me Val’s style any day of the week.
https://www.wba.co.uk/news/ismael-reflects-preston-defeat Got all the excuses lined up. If they don't beat Millwall at the weekend they could be out of the play offs with Huddersfield and Forest above them.
Is it any wonder why he left though? Just like Hecky he knew these owners wouldn’t back him, so he jumped for the first offer that came his way. And even if he did stay he would’ve probably ended up being sacked anyways after telling El-Ahmad to piss off after his comments about last season being unsuccessful and the style of play not being good enough.
Interesting. Can't see them paying off three and a half years still left on his four year contract just yet.
Each to their own Fi. There were games in the second half of last season where I was tearing my hair out. Beyond that even. If we'd gone on a string of games playing like that losing by the odd goal rather than winning I guarantee Reds fans would have been going ballistic. As I say though I'd rather be tearing my hair out and 20 points better off though at this point in time.
There were games towards back end of last season where he'd lost the plot. Sheff Wed, Derby County and Reading home games. Preston away. Both legs in the Play-Offs. That said Huddersfield and Luton away we're interspersed in that run and were two entertaining, cracking performances. Swings and roundabouts. I'd like to think that Val could make this team sing. Collins, Sibbick, Helik, Anderson, Brittain, Palmer, Hondermarck, Styles. Morris, Woodrow, Cole. More or less same team as last season. Week in week out would be higher up the table.
Get him back in for next season in league one . If he’s available I would be moving heaven and earth to get him in
I still wouldn't want him back. I know that makes me sound mental, but returning managers rarely work out, and if he did we know he'd be off like a shot again yep, totally get why he left. but he was complicit in a fair bit of asset stripping along the way. I wouldn't have minded so much if they were the people he brought with him. but they weren't. not bitter towards him, but I wouldn't want him back. if i owned a company and my manager left, taking key staff with him, there's no way I'd be giving him his old job back 12 months later.
