Im admitting he was useless overall. I’m talking about loan performances vs. permanent, where stats are pretty much worthless on deciding that. If we’re so focused on stats then wouldn’t you agree to wanting a midfielder who almost scored as many as Mowatt for us and got POTY?
Im not sure what some peoples perception of what Bang Average is I would guarantee any of these would walk into our current team Probably some of them even now
So you agree he was useless . I saw many flaws prior to coming on a permanent. The club were in my eyes placating the fans at the time of signing as it was a cheap option. Do You go along with poy. You'll. have his fans taking it up with you. Over to you lot. As for Mowatt You know and I know I'm focussing on playing career not just goals. Their careers will be miles apart. . One was poor The other will have a great career. Lumsden btw. Spent his glory years in Div 2. 3rd tier of football. His 1st year part of a relegated team.
Ok I read the op wrong but if these players were still with us now they would do a better job than some we have now
Probably best to just agree to disagree. You’re not saying much I don’t agree with but that’s irrelevant to what the OP was asking. Colace at his best for Barnsley was, so far, a better player than Gomes and Benson.
I clearly remember Lumsden was had a great loan spell with us and I was buzzing when we signed on a permanent…then he was shocking, I’m pretty sure he liked the pubs in town a little too much.
Definitely liked to visit Mustang Sally’s in Wakefield on a Monday with Mulligan and…… possibly Bertos or Fallon.
And on that note. Re the op. I believe Colace fell below average. And maybe good on a couple of occasions. imo ie. I want to improve the team. not let it stand still. You can have the last word my good man.
Waiting for the Flak. But dare I throw Paul Hayes into the mix. Likeable/plenty of effort/not short of a goal or two. I believe would have suited the high press.
