I'm printing a map and taking it with me last time. I had no idea where any of the pubs were! We found the grassy area near opposite Tesco express and then tried wandering along up some streets but gave it up as a bad job (neither of us actually wanted a drink anyway).

I'm not sure what happened there.

Can you post the map, I couldn't find any either, ended up in the fan zone which was ok but stopped serving an hour before kick off.

Just finished watching 11.22.63, I can categorically confirm Oswald acted alone...

Here's a map with all the Barnsley allocated pubs marked.

Should work now - needed to change sharing permissions.

What was the pub called just a bit further down from Costa Coffee near the fan zone, think it was mainly Oxford.

If you select the small icon with the arrow in the top right of the map, it pulls in the index of all the pubs. Click on the pub name and it'll take you to the map location.

Will it be family friendly in the fan zone? Grown up family including wife and elderly father.

On the grass accross from st joseph's social club i reckon. 19 degrees forecast and cheap ale: beats being fenced off inside the torch.

It was last time. I was quite disappointed in it to be honest. I have no idea what I was expecting but it was just a fenced off area with a couple of expensive food/drink stalls, it felt like a really bizarre place to be. There wasn't any chanting or singing or any hype at all really, it was just people all standing about. The grassy area by Tesco had much more atmosphere but obviously it will be different people this time so who knows what it wil be like.

Were you allowed to take your own drinks / cans into the fan zone area?

I'm not sure, we did have food in bags which we ate elsewhere but no-one checked them. It was just a lot of people milling about in a random cordoned off area (sort of like a pen) so I don't think anyone would have particularly noticed or cared. I'm not sure what the actual rules were.
