Because we're getting to a point - either by design or accident, whereby unless PHE or the Govt decree that it's okay then you can't do it - the point you've made about it being a diktat to spread the virus equally applies to the lie that has been perpetrated and echoed by those who seemingly love to be told what to do, that everyone who visits a pub or restaurant instantly gets **** faced and then goes around breathing into others faces. We're gradually being told (and it's working) that we are all naughty children who can't have nice things unless we earn them through compliant behaviour. It's easier to argue against with accusations of conspiracy theories & Bill gates etc though, rather than actually look critically at what has happened this year.
Exactly this. I don't believe in Lockdown, but wouldn't interact with vulnerable people while infections are in the general population at rates they are now. We know how the virus spreads, we know who's vulnerable, use that knowledge to act accordingly. Why do you need to be told what to do?
Worst thing this government did was break the country down in to a regional tier system thus creating an us and them society.
How does that work when people have to go to work and school though? Someone who is extremely clinically vulnerable who can’t work from home, or someone who lives with someone who is, could spend Christmas apart from family who doesn’t want to pass it on and then have to work with everyone who’s been out mixing for 5 days. I’m not saying it should be cancelled and people wouldn’t cancel now anyway but that’s why it makes a difference. I’m dreading the week or so following when my dad, despite spending Christmas at home with my mam who’s at risk and not seeing anyone, will have to go back to work in the factory and hope to God he doesn’t catch it and bring it home to my mam. It’s scary enough anyway when it’s not Christmas and now we’re so close to a vaccine and her being safe and it’s about to get more dangerous.
if Barnsley stay in tier 3, new review will be 23rd of December a week earlier than normal, who makes all this up?
Go on Specimen date not reported date. Its a more accurate representation of the test data. Barnsley is currently 136.1/100K
Are you suffering from Long Lockdown? Symptoms include unemployment, depression, poverty, anxiety, undiagnosed cancer, loneliness, despair and disillusionment. (Note that wealthy professionals with large gardens and secure jobs may have preexisting immunity).
We've had 9 months of this and there's still people who don't seem to understand the chain of risks. I share your frustration.
Ahh, on 23rd all the northern areas will be moved to tier 2 which ties in with the christmas period starting. On 30th Northern monkeys are put into national lockdown along with everyone else. Except you will be able to go to shops work school and university.
It was on the 10th of December. When they announce daily, the results are aggregates of previous days and get adjusted out accordingly which is why it bounces the figures.
I'm using this. It was 129 for Barnsley this morning and 135 now. Rate in last 7 days column. http://ukcovid19.nw.r.appspot.com/summary
I agree, I almost felt glad that London got chucked into tier 3 because if we can’t have nice things why should they. It’s silly and petulant and I definitely don’t want anyone above the minimum needing to suffer but it does create that mentality.
That goes off the daily reporting. Have a play at the specimen data options. YOu can also get it by MOSA as well.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9060723/PM-told-NO-areas-dropped-Three-Two-new-review.html No surprise really. Even areas that have dropped loads have started to rise again probably partially due to people packing out shops, high streets and shopping centres Christmas shopping. With the relaxation for five days over the festive period I think they would rather wait and see what the result of that is first instead of lowering tiers then two weeks later putting them back.
