    Disagree entirely

He claims we've sacked too many managers. I disagree with that, we've sacked managers that needed to be sacked. The problem has been employing **** managers and constantly going for the cheap option instead of choosing the right guy.

Well I suppose we must go with the times and swap places with Leeds before the season starts!

    Agreed

Spackman, Hodges, Parkin, Hart all deserved sacking.

"constantly going for the cheap option instead of choosing the right guy. "

Define 'cheap option' - I don't think any of our recent managers have been on minimum wage.</p>

And who were the 'right guys' ? You know, the ones that would have guaranteed better results ?

if we all had a reality check

If we had a reality check - Would we be Barnsley fans?
Surely we all believe in the dream in spite of reality, because we are Barnsley fans. I don't really believe we have much of a chance of returning to the premiership anytime soon. But I can dream.
I take Bassets point. But he also misses the point.
And if Robson proved anything, it was that small town clubs can over achieve, given a good manager and a following wind.

You mean, Steve Parkin now of Hull and Paul Hart, now of Portsmouth. Yeah, they really are ****.

The problem goes back to the initial point.

    People need a reality check.

Parkin, Ritchie & Gudjon didn't deserve to go.

Parkin was feighting a losing battle since he joined. Over-paid players who didn't give a **** and then admin. Should've stuck with him for at least the remainder of that season, it couldn't have been any worse.

Gudjon had worked miracles with the squad he had to get us into mid table considering the circumstances. P. Riddy then just wanted shut.

Everyone knows about Ritchie anyway, one thing Paddy Cryne's done that I disagree with.

But Spackman and Hart deserved to go.

Steve Parkin signed Paul Gibb, Gary Jones and Andy Holt

    That alone deserves a sacking!

Biggest load of crap I've ever heard

Why do we think we are sleeping giants? Can anyone put a link up where anyone has posted that we should be in the premier league? All I want is to be mid table in the championsip That is the league where we have been for most of our history indeed more seasons there than any other club. Where on earth do folk think we should be then League 1?

    This bit

Barnsley will struggle again in the bottom half of the table but I don't think they will be relegated

    That's one mans opinion.

In the Championship, anything could happen.

Burnley were the favourites for the drop last year - take a look at what happened to them!

    Yes we are sleeping giants

Absolutely! Everybody in football knows that Barnsley really is an established Premiership club with a huge fan base, loads of money and a prime position in the transfer market where we always take our pick of the best players.

The only reason we are not in the Champions League is because it would not be fair to the other clubs if we were in it.

We are the not the same as Newcastle fans at all. They would be content with a mid table Premiership position, we wouldn't accept that. Nothing less than winning the title by the end of August will do for us, so we can then concentrate on winning the FA Cup, Carling Cup, World Club Championship, Champions League (our reserves will of course win the EUFA Cup). We will also be sending our entire squad to the World Cup in South Africa as there would be no point in selecting players from any other clubs (if they were better than our players we would have bought them).

Load of tripe. Bassett should keep his nose out.

Does anyone actually read this board?

Because, it's obvious that Dave Bassett DOES read it.

The entire Summer, you'd think we have just slipped into the conference, and Davey was marching a fresh load of troops into the Rhineland.

    You hypocrites. Listen to yourself!
