Another poor attempt to manufacture a story whilst there's very little going on. I've read 3 articles now which you've posted on here Gally, and every single one of them has given a headline, followed by a completely unrelated article about how poor we're performing. If they've nothing constructive to write, they shouldn't bother at all.
Correct, along with radio Sh1tfield, uck em both off, I asume the Chron has got it's usual column from Flitcroft etc so it's not a complete blackout as stated by this **** stirring w@nker.
So the gist of the article is; 1) clubs doing well tend to be open & welcoming with the media and there's a feelgood factor about the place 2) clubs really struggling tend to shut up shop and be a bit suspicious about the media Brought to you by the offices of No, **** & Sherlock. For all your journalistic needs.....
Is this a first? The whole of the BBS agrees on something? Just for the record - I agree with everything that has been said.
Well Neil, nobody really gives a **** what you think. Its a cheap shot at Barnsley Football Club, who probably don't have much to say at the moment. They should tell the Star to **** off.
I'm a bit disappointed Radio Sheffield have been dragged in to this. Radio Sheffield were banned from Oakwell for an entire season not too long ago and they never kicked up any kind of fuss like this knob head. Thankfully the club saw sense and invited them back. Do Radio Sheffield always get it right? No, they don't. Do we get as much coverage as United and Wednesday? No, we don't. But they always try to be supportive and they're one of the few press organisations that cover Barnsley who are prepared to ask the awkward questions. That doesn't mean they'll do a hatchet job like the above. They wouldn't dream of it. But if something is amiss at the club they'll try to get to the bottom of it. Meanwhile, they provide interviews and reports from every single game and are the only free to air service that regularly provide Barnsley commentaries. IMHO they are the only press organisation that try to support Barnsley and ask the difficult questions. It's a difficult balancing act and they don't always get it right, but the alternatives are Barnsley World and The Chronicle who make you believe we can do no wrong or The Barnsley Star who will attack the club for no good reason. The Barnsley Star might as well be dismissed altogether, it's a pile of ****, and while The Chronicle, and Barnsley World in particular, provide invaluable coverage, I think it's also worth hearing the views of Paul Walker et al, who may not be dyed in the wool reds fans, but are capable of an objective view of the club. That doesn't mean you have to agree with them, but to dismiss them as anti-Barnsley is incorrect in my opinion.
With this example of abysmal journalism laid down by The Star, will Ben Mansford have something to say to them? I certainly would, if I was in charge of BFC.
