Looks like Someone's made a start in trying to break up the academies,
'' God squad'' ...wonder if Bobby's happy, Quick question...is his neck now on the line too?
Can't see Bruce being happy either, that his lad has been released.
The pressure washer of cleansing is moving through the corridors of Oakwell at some speed might I add
Expect more departures these coming weeks. Out of that retained list expect 5 of them at least to be in the category of open to offers for transfer.
    The plot thickens
For the good might I add

A shame about Dyer & James. James looked really good in his few cameos. Hopefully one we don't regret.

The club didn't know what they were doing when they signed all these players they are now releasing for free. I'm not convinced they've got any smarter. We'll see....

Bruce will know that's how football works. He will be disappointed that the lad never really got a chance tho I'd imagine.

It's a shame the pressure washer cleansing didn't reach the office of Sormaz. Get him out.

Happened the season before when he was at wigan couldn't agree a new contract and ended up leaving until we signed him. I imagine we were paying him decent wages and we had the offer of another year. Again all guess work but we've probably offered him lower wages to stay rather than just extending the deal. He might have known this for weeks hence why he pulled his finger out.

Pity he didn't pull his finger out at Christmas time when we were in the top 6.
Players just look out for themselves these days.
You can't blame them I suppose.

He was with the 16s I beleive, never got a look in as someone favoured the striker in front of him ,who never made it.

Yep went through the motions too much for me. If a club was watching him those last 7 games or so he will have attached some interest.

They’ve got to release him or at least dish out banning orders to fans that call him Humps. I can’t take much more of it.

Didn't Humpreys and the club say that he had an illness during that period?.I recall he had lost some weight and had to build up his fitness levels. If we can replicate his recent performances we have a good player on our hands.

If your so ill you shouldn't play, you either can play or you can't and some games I'd had as much influence on a game from my seat. I think he's a talented lad but sometimes under Clarke the effort was in question. Maybe the change in formation and position helped him. Wigan fans said similar.

It shows the state we're in that we're releasing a considerable number of players, yet the squad is still bloated and lacking in quality in key areas.

Shame about Dyer and Marsh and a pity Benson couldn't get fit, but I think they are the right decisions. I wouldn't have offered Humphreys a deal. 5 games of effort doesn't make up for 30 games of invisibility and his salary will have been significant We have to use our budget wisely. Somehow we need to offload DeGevigney, he's been a calamity and that would worsen all the more in a back 4. Phillips I've no doubt will go and I'd be open to offers for Connell given Bland could step up.

The most concerning thing for a club haemorrhaging money is the January activity. Most released, all hardly featured, all cost money we didn't need to pay out. We've got to get stricter on pay and fees. Granted, we're not going to breakeven (though I still can't wrap my head around our cost base) but that doesn't mean we can throw away the money we do on pointless activity and poor quality.

Good post. Have said same recently but usually question why the guy overseeing the calamity is still in a job. Hopefully MDG,Watters to go but it appears we'd have to have a disastrous season up to January for Sormez to get sacked which obviously nobody wants to happen. Hope Houriane is now pulling the strings.

We didn't release Jordan Rhodes, he left when his dad moved to Ipswich.
