A stat which is where we need to be aiming for again. I'm more concerned with the goals for away from home, not against.

    We'll see come October ish

Amazing you make a point about our defence and im accused of doom mongering. Jesus.

I'm pointing out its something we need to improve that's all.

Interesting that we won 8 that year and only lost 5 but goal difference was still -3 on our travels. Were one or two of our 5 defeats that year a tonking? - I can't recall.

Would kill for those days though when you could go away with a reasonable chance of coming home with something in the bag - only 5 defeats - amazing. The reason I hardly go away these days is because I am fed up of paying top dollar when there is such a high probability that we will lose.

Got tonked at Oxford when they were all pissed, remember us losing 3-0 at swindon (1st away defeat of the season in November i think) and a few high scoring draws.

Thanks for the info - bringing back memories now. I remember the 7 hour trip to Pompey on the bus - looked like we may not make it at one point.

How could I forget the tonking at Oxford! :). Never seen people care so little. Remember an Oxford fan trying to take the piss about how we were rubbish and god knows how we got promoted and we just laughed at him - he clearly didn't get it. Ah, Happy days.

That Oxford game is still a blur to me, just remember being extremely drunk all weekend and laughing everytime they scored.. didnt sink in that we had been promoted until the fixtures came out. Best summer of my life.
