Best goalscorer I have ever seen at Oakwell ... Cecil McCormick. Only 5'7", could turn on a 6d. Saw him score 5 against Luton Town who on that day fielded and England centre half and Bernard Streten, England Goalkeeper.

    Neil Redfearn...

There'll never be another one like him at Oakwell.

    Redders

Neil Redfearn wins hands down for me. Skipper of the Prem Team. Mind you, Ronnie was probably almost as good, but didn't get to the prem. Imagine playing with Redders, Glavin and Hignett in midfield. No matter how many goals we let in, we would still win.

See , you even get this wrong

    GOD wore 4.
Glavin was the best I have seen in a BFC shirt, Redders was good, but not as good.
But if I had seen taylor then , who knows !!

    Premier League!!!

That's what swings it for me. But I agree, Glavin was God. As an attacking midfielder, better than Redfearn, just. I suppose Redders was part of a better team, rather than a better player in himself.

He did not get us promoted by himself tho!

That was a team effort and even tho they played in Prem I just cant see how any of that side can be as good as Glavin.

Glavin Made things happen on his own , he ghosted around the pitch without seeming to break sweat. He was a lot faster than he looked and got from end to end effortlessly. Having said that Ray McHale did a great job along side him.

    Can't argue with that

Glavin was a top player. It was just the sheer emotion of the premiership promotion story that swings it for me. Struggling to separate them, I admit. As a pure attacking midfielder, Glavin was the best in the ways you describe, but Redders could defend (well, a bit), was better from dead balls and was a superb skipper.

Sticking by my choice, after much thought, but respect your views.

Totally agree about Ray McHale by the way. Another top player, unsung hero.

    It's all about opinions

Everyone has different views on things - I couldn't decide between them but went for Glavin in the end - Redfearn was a fantastic servant for the club but Glavin had that little bit extra. Higgy was a close third for me
