A disgrace Barnsley council. There's a lot of eyesore waste land all over the town.

Why not just build something on the land on the left going down Harbour Hill? They keep talking about making the so called gateway to town more attractive so why not take advantage of available free land. Behind the town hall is not an ideal place for a 6th form college too.

I still use the library for uni and it's always in use by others. So annoying we have a quality facility but it's going.

Never used the library since mid-80's. Paid plenty of council tax over the years to pay for it though.

Just to clarify, the building is closing to be demolished. The library service itself is relocating to Wellington St on a temporary basis.

Quality library services are a must for any community. They provide entertainment, education, internet access & help to all. No discriminations with regards to age or finance.

Glad it's going along with the shops, that end of town is really beginning to look smart these day around the Town Hall and new college building will finish it off. I joined the library 2 weeks ago and went in for the first time the other weekend, great facility and l'm sure it will still be when it's relocated. The plans for the relocation are on display in the library.

Provided there's no reduction with regards to the quality of the library facilities, I see no problem with the council trying to regenerate areas of the town.

That's going to be a supermarket sooner or later, once a developer and the Bingo oyle can agree a price.

I think his knighthood might have been something to do with not standing for nomination in Barnsley East so Michael Dugher could be parachuted in from Gordon Brown's team at Number 10.
