Barnsley rejected bid for kitching

As much as Im laughing at his current Swansea team struggling, I will always appreciate the job Duff and Patterson did, and the season we had with them.
Looking at the state of the club when they joined, can we really say the aim was promotion ?.
For me it wasn't, and getting to the Wembley Final was a successful season, even though we fell short on the day. And because of reasons that I don't want to go over again, but I certainly wouldn't call last season a 'failure'.
