At the Derby home game last season, someone 'stole' the router.

FFS you can put one of those in place for £300-£500 including the techie to do it.

    Sort it out rowing.

Yep, and there are barely any sockets either

So some press are screwed if their laptop batteries don't last 2 hours (mine lasts 10 minutes!).

It really is a truly awful press box and needs to be sorted out. I've a number of friends working for different papers who say they've seen better facilities for press at non league grounds. And I know I have at League One grounds - and poor grounds at that.

There were bits of wood missing from our seats for about 2 years before it was fixed so I always felt I was falling through the damn thing.

Shame cos Oakwell's a great stadium and it wouldn't take much to put it right.

RE: Barnsley FC are still in the dark ages - ISDN!??

It's not BFC that are in the dark ages re ISDN, it's what Radio broadcasters still use on the whole. The commentators each turn up with a there mics, headphones etc and an ISDN codec box that costs around 1500 quid that suprise, suprise needs an ISDN connection.

    Maybe not

But the press box is still in the dark ages.

It's quite embarrassing having to explain to visiting and national press that there are no sockets for the written media to plug their laptops into.

    I would say I can't believe that

If it was 'just' Oakwell AM it wouldn't have surprised me but when they have paying customers?

    However, I can believe it.

    Who made that decision though?

    Any further information on this?

Will the supporters trust be asking for a full explanation from Barnsley FC as to why they chose to turn off the home broadcast of barnsley world that its customers had payed to recieve?

Will they also be asking for a full explanation as to why the statement released by BFC claims that it was a technical fault and not a decision that had been made?
