No Kenny Burns? :) Gwynn for me - would run through a brick wall if you asked him

Malcolm Shotton in my time watching the club since 1987. No comparison.

Mention of Leeds reminds me of one of the hardest but best challenges I've ever seen at Oakwell when Miles Addison took the ball off Michael Brown shortly after he'd crocked Jacob Butterfield. Brown was sat on the ground pleading with the ref for a foul but got short shrift from the ref. Addison had played the ball first, but then followed through and made the so-called Leeds hard man look like a wimp.

Gerry Taggart's name keeps cropping up, but nobody's mentioned his one time sidekick, Charlie Bishop. I always thought they looked like a pair of nightclub doormen.

Always felt like Jacob Burns would be handy at your side in the trenches, not showy hard but a quiet, steely determination. Same for Neil Austin.

Too right. Just ask Dennis Mortimer.

David Geddes also had homicidal tendencies.

I think anyone could have Barton in a fair fight but he doesn't go in for those.

Bob Parker or Hewitt. Forget his first name. when Hewitt went up in a header challenge he had no eyes for the bal just the opponents head.

Absolutely, Duncan Sharpe. He could head the ball further than he could kick it and he could kick a centre forward further than he could throw him.
