Didn't watch it, but let's not forget this is a lad who has played <10 games at League One level & less than 50 pro games, mainly in Ireland, and is 24.

    He's a huge punt.

You get nowhere without critique. Especially when it is fair.

This is true. But as @Jimmy viz says, he's a great option as an attacking sub, whether we're looking to grab an equaliser or winner, or to stretch the opposition as they push for an equaliser.

I think our system sometimes doesn't work for some players O dour eg, I really agree with Cotter as an out n out winger terrorising defence.
Like said earlier no one ever criticised Adam Hammil for his defensive frailty

I think the comments on his ability is fair but the biggest concern for me would be his temperament. His reaction last night was unacceptable after the captain (Kitching) rightly gave him a few words of 'encouragement'

Although financially very low-risk. The club must have seen something in him to have signed him.

I didn't see the game so can't comment on his performance but I've often thought the wing back position one of the most demanding, attack and defend, covering a lot of ground. Be interesting to see the GPS data from the vests they wear

Almost unheard of a defender successfully becoming a forward but other way round there are multiple wing backs who were attackers originally, as you say easier to teach defensive side.
Lad probably needs a few months of George Graham style coaching with a quality CB tied to him.
