I'd agree that the former should definitely carry a lesser sentence than the latter But if someone chased a bloke through a park and buried an ice axe into his head because the victim was a Man City fan I think the murderer should receive the same sentence as a bloke doing the same because the victim was black.
There you go again Corporate line instead of your actual feelings on the subject. You're a slave to your profession. You're company robot. A lawbot. You are Corporate Colin.
RE: Do you think that Racism is something to be supported .. Depends why you killed him. Is it coz he was black or coz the other was French?
RE: So you believe I agree with the first two. Not with the political element but that's the real world unfortunately. You should try it out one day.
RE: I believe in ballax, law of averages tho, 50 posts, at least one had to **** upff Where did you get that song off? can't stop humming it.
RE: Do you think that Racism is something to be supported .. Well if it was cos he was french then it would be medal time, but you get the point the colour should,nt matter same style of offence same time
RE: Do you think that Racism is something to be supported .. Your nationality is English not your race. I believe that you should apply the same principle towards both the skin colour and nationality if your sole reason, other than pure badness, was the persons country of origin. T'other day there was a programme on TV from Scarboro where the cops dealt with an assault by a gang of scumbag locals who'd assaulted a bunch of German kids and the cops were keen to find out if reference had been to the kids nationality (it had). In other words the sole motive was the fact that they were German and therefore deserving of a beating. What's wrong with us in this country ?
RE: Do you think that Racism is something to be supported .. so you never went to jump then? cos if you came from hoyland or elsecar the jumpers used to think that was a good enough reason to give you a beating and visa versa i suppose lots of other places were the same but we werent called racist. what makes me mad is if a black person gets beaten up by a gang of lads its racist but what if its a gang of blacks who beat uo a whiteman racism is never metioned
RE: I'm talking about the reason within the same situation I think the point is that they wouldn't have chased a white lad through the park and put an axe through his head. The sole motive for this was because the lad was black - it was purely a racist attack.
I'm not disputing the fact that the attack was race motivated It was! I'm talking about sentencing. Anyway, the whole thing is bloody horrible. The world has lost someone who appeard to be a cracking lad and if you ask why I bet those who did it couldn't tell you. I saw his mum on ITN news this evening and it moved me to tears.
******* SCOUTS *******!!!!! THEY NEED THERE HEADS CHOPPING OFF AND THATS NOT HARSH SHOULD BE DONE</p>
RE: look mate not having a go like but..... that sounds familiarly like a British National Party line. I s'ppose you can't seperate the british legal, judicial and political system/culture from british history. An accident of history meant we industrialised first and consequently colonised first, inevitably subjugating native cultures and indoctrinating them with our "superior values". We've been guilt tripping ever since.
RE: plus... you can move away from hoyland or elsecar and living in Sheffield or wherever won't mean **** to anybody. You can even swop football teams (ask Mick) but....you can't change the colour of your skin.
