RE: Still looking on the bright side

I seem to recall reading something shortly after they went into administration, saying that Kevin Blackwell was pursuing them for money as a result of his sacking & that because of the admin situation, the company he was sueing no longer existed.

If the company that he was seeking payment from no longer exists, surely by the same argument, the company that Firedathome's employers owe money to no longer exists & so cannot be paid.

    My boss

Said tongue in cheek that he might offer 1p a pound to them - sure he wouldn't, but it would be funny to see how they react. (givinfinger)

Presumably thats a football debt though

If I recall correctly he signed a contract last summer for 3 (or 4) years and will be due the balance if its unilaterally terminated.

    Would have thought so too

& I know that the Football League insist that all football debts are settled in full so I can't see how they can get away with not paying him. However, I'm sure that I read somewhere that as the company he was sueing no longer existed, his chances of payment were nil.

Got to be worthwhile holding onto the payment to see if anyone bothers to chase it but they could request payment at any time I suppose.

Someone I know booked a Council run venue for an event & it took them just over 6 months to even invoice him! I also know someone who booked a different Council venue, paid in full on the day & was threatened with legal action 6 months after the event if he didn't pay up!!
