Regardless of whether you agree with that analysis or not (I don't), no one is in any doubt as to Farage's view. He is deluded if he thinks he hasn't been given a platform to get his message across because never has someone with so little democratic support been given so much airtime by the media.

How can you talk about failing motorways system, failing train system, chronic problems in the health service, lack of school places, lack of housing etc etc.......IF.........you are not addressing immigration and the fact that 250,000 to 300,000 Europeans are entering this country every year.

That's the population of Doncaster coming to this country every year..........without the infrastructure to support them

    All these issues are related

Public services fail because of a lack of investment, either because government chooses not to raise sufficient income through taxation or they waste it on foreign wars or selling off things like council housing and then paying £30 billion a year in housing benefit to landlords.

The answer to improving public services certainly isn't voting for Thatcherite economists like Farage. Migration is crucial to this country to address the demographic imbalance. What needs to change is neo-liberal parties using that migration to their own ends to advance capitalism and the transfer of wealth to the few at the expense of the many.

Is there a link to substantiate this.

The only bias I've seen is the disproportionate airtime that misguided toohat (I'm being generous to him) has received

Because I work with lots of immigrants, I feel my opinion is fairer than some. It's my opinion that immigration is affecting wages adversely for many. I believe immigration needs to be discussed. I haven't met too many immigrants at work who plan to stay here long term, and the majority live with many fellow immigrants in the one property, saving them lots of money which many of them are saving so they can return 'home' to fund an education which will enable them to get a well paid job in their home country.

I do not have any problem with them as people. I regard a few as friends actually. They're up front and open about why they're here and in terms of the Polish they absolutely love their own country and will blatantly admit they're only here for the money.

However, the lack of applicants at our place for vacancies from our own British population is key too. Younger lads/lasses born here just aren't keen on minimum wage factory work. Why? Dunno, that's a different debate altogether.

How to solve these issues? Not a clue, and I'm not paid to come up with the solution. I'm just an English bloke earning more (but not much) than NMW in a factory where the number of fellow white English colleagues is a low one. Where English is the third most spoken language.

I can certainly understand why some folk would seek to vote for a party who would put some sort of limits on immigration. But were every immigrant for example to be sent 'back', I know that my workplace would be ******. You'd lose about 75% of your workforce. So again, I haven't a ******* clue what the answer is. But I know this - it isn't ******* UKIP.

Whoever decided to open the doors, or allow legislation or whatever that opened our doors so wide for so many, they ****** up. I've got no time at all for the Tories, but Labour under Blair/Brown were an abomination too and I actually have no idea yet who I'm going to vote for. I voted Green last time, and I want to vote them this time too. Their candidate in Bradford West is visiting Clayton tomorrow (my day off) so I'm hoping to hear that my vote won't be wasted, which I fear it will be if I vote Green again. I really admire the Labour candidate too. Strong woman who's had a very difficult upbringing, something lovely person Galloway has tried to use to his advantage, the odious basterd. It's bad enough having UKIP to fend off, but here we've already got Galloway in situ and I really want shut. The bloke's only ever been in the city during elections and what not. He's done **** all for the city in my three years here and is the most inactive MP in the house but costing us nearly £700,000 a year??

    I hate politics.

What a pointless rant that was.

    Soz.

Immigrants against immigration and for hypocrisy.

The better times? You left in 83 and may have missed what the very British Thatcher government did to Barnsley.

Don't throw your dummy out of the cot Seatle, as I'm an immigrant who better to comment? But remember, I was always invited in to wherever I worked. They call it head hunting, not uninvited guests. In addition I never took free housing and health cover or pension from wherever I went in the world. But hey I have enjoyed the ride. But who is Seatle Red? The name suggests a Yank or at least an ex pat yourself. Kettle calling pot? Just a thought...

Just to jump in on this - where does it suggest Farage is given an audience due to left wing bias?

I'd suggest he's been given an audience as part of the fact he is involved in local elections, and local branches of the BBC are putting on regional specials - not quite the conspiracy you make it out to be.

Anyone who can't see through the 'man in the pub' rhetoric he keeps spouting will see farage for what he is - a national front businessman who has the interests of a very few in mind, but prays on ignorance, media attention, and controversy.
